Injury Prevention

….. is the main aim for any Sports Therapist.

Most athletes aim to be the best they can be at their chosen sport, regardless of the level at which they are competing . Your mindsets are unique in that you keep pushing harder and harder in your quest and in so doing, subject your  bodies to immense stress.

As a Sports Massage therapist, my main aim is to prevent you from injurying yourself, which a programme such as the one I have listed above, will undoubtedly result in.

Mel Cash, Founder of the Institute of Sports and Remedial Massage puts it very well when he says. ‘.. with regular sports therapy, the athlete is able to sustain high levels of performance without getting injured..and the therapist can measure success not by how well he treats an injury but by how few acutal injuries he has to treat.’

Pete’s Story:
Pete wanted to run the Marathon d’sable…as one does.  I had been treating him for a chronic back problem over a number of years – we had got him to a stage that his back problem didn’t bother his normal day to day life with regular maintenance treatments.  We carried out the pre event sessions starting 4 weeks before commencement and on his return -TOTALLY INJURY FREE – we commenced the post event programme.

Pete’s testimonial
“Diksha halped me get into shape in spite of my having a bad back.  Just before I went I undertook the full pre event programme and I didn’t have any trouble completing the mega challenge: she did a wonderful job!”
