Musculoskeletal Pain
(physical aches and pains)
Sometimes, all is not what it seems: physical pain can have its origins in serious systemic problems e.g back pain brought on by kidney problems; shoulder pain due to problems in the pancreas; heart problems can sometimes cause pain radiating down the left arm; pain in the legs can be caused by poor circulation.
So if you have a persistent pain that refuses to go away with over the counter pain medication, it is advisable to get this checked out by your medical practitioner.
However, emotions and feelings can also lead to physical pain – stress is a big contributor, as is depression, anger and worry. All these affect posture, create imbalances in the body and can potentially lead to pain.
It is important to identify the cause of your physical pain in order to deal effectively with it – this is the purpose of the Consultation Process.
